Microsoft Acquired Skype for $8.5 Billion in Cash

The deal is done; there were different rumors that Microsoft is going to acquire Skype for $ 7 Billion. The whole day we are reading different rumors from Tech Crunch and Wall Street Journal, but now it is confirmed that Microsoft has finalize the deal and acquired Skype for USD 8.5 Billion in cash. It is said to be the first sizeable acquisition since August 2008, when Microsoft spent $486 million on Greenfield Online. Steve Ballmer Microsoft Chief Executive said during the announcement about the deal of Skype Acquisition that “Skype is a phenomenal service that is loved by millions of people around the world”. Mr. Ballmer further said that: “Skype will be new business division within Microsoft Company, and Skype’s CEO Tony Bates will be the president of Microsoft Skype”.

This deal is considered as the biggest deal in the 36 years history of Microsoft, a company that traditionally has shied away from large deals. This Price includes the debt price of Skype as well. The news about this deal was confirmed by the Wall Street Journal.

NIRVANA

After a very long time I got a chance to recall my music collection. I excitingly went searching my music library and to my pleasure found a band that in their times were music icons and are still recognized for their eminent job. Their musical spell enabled them to over shadow the king of  pop Michael Jackson by giving the block buster  album in 1991 “NEVER MIND”, which made the record of 10 million copies worldwide (woo huge success). The genre of this band is Alternative Rock and this is none other than “NIRVANA”. This rock band was designed in America by the joint efforts of singer/ guitarist KURT COBAIN and bassist KRIST NOVOSELIC. Their smash hit was SMELLS LIKE TEENAGE SPIRIT and many others like RAPE ME, HEART SHAPED BOX, SILVER, DUMB, COME AS YOU ARE and so on. Their charisma is yet not over and have a huge fan following worldwide. The young lot of music lover in Pakistan knowing the true essence of music greatly idealizes Nirvana. They were the first one to revolutionize the rock music and enjoyed great influence over the youngsters. Cobain encouraged self expression and provided outlet for frustration becoming the spokesmen for the teens struggling with intrinsic fears. Bands such as KORN, THE VINES, PUDDLE OF MUDD are inspired by the same exemplary band.

 The biggest blow of the band was the tragic death of the lead singer KURT COBAIN. His was found at his home lying dead for days, on 8 April, 1994. Curt Cobain was addicted to Heroin; over dose of drugs led him to a terrible death. He came from a broken family and out of depression had several suicide attempts till he succeeded, no matter how. Indeed he was the soul of NIRVANA and his death proved out to be the death of entire band. Surprisingly, this tragic end led them to even greater heights of fame and he is still alive in the hearts of his admirers like me.

He kept alligator in a small tank and fed it only 10 live mice a month to keep it from growing too large. he said he bought the gator five years ago in Indiana for $200.
